The sky; My home By Khadija Nadeem
The sky is my home.
As I tilt my head,
against the back wall
to keep the raindrops from falling.
The blue expanses are my home.
Birds chirping the harmony of my heart,
the laughter of my soul.
As I throw my head back,
curls cascade down.
The stars are my home.
Holders of all my secrets.
I whisper to blank expanses,
knowing no one will hear.
The sun is my home.
knowest to all my hidden smiles.
Meant only for me and her,
as the rays glare into my dormant eyes.
The sky is my home.
Clouds filled with raindrops of misery
And they slide down my face.
My head hits the back wall,
as my eyes shut out
the glare of the stars,
Who have taken refuge in the dark sky above me.
