The Walls By Rameen Ahmed
The door shrieks a welcome,
Every time we enter
And the floorboards creak familiarly
with our every stride,
The beds prepare to nest us
,Every night, in a warm embrace
The peeling wallpaper threatens a glimpse
Into the secrets we try to veil
.The bookshelf gathers dust and wisdom,
It’s been watching for quite some time
beckoning for our attention,
neglected, left to rot
On violent nights,
the curtains billow and thrash against window panes
mirroring our temperament
The walls soak up your every sound,
As it resonates around your roomT
hey hear the cries, the yells, the laughter
They know of what you do
